Internet climbs to 40% over Newspapers' 35%. TV at 70%

As mentioned in our recent book, Web Campaigning, the Pew Research Center for People and the Press has released many articles on the increasing influence of the internet.  In December 2008, the Pew Research Center released this article on how the internet has passed newspapers as a news outlet.  Among people 18-29, the internet rivals TV for news, both at 59%:

Among young people, both tv and the internet are used by 59% of the population as their main news source.

The Pew Research Center has also published this article on the internet as a major source for political campaign news.
